A LITTLE HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN

Halloween has roots that go back more than 2,000 years to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”). The Celts believed that on the night of October 31, the boundary between the living and the dead was at its thinnest, and they lit bonfires, wore costumes, and left out food to keep spirits happy.

Over time, Halloween traditions evolved, blending Celtic customs with Christian All Hallows’ Eve and later American traditions. What started as a night of mystery and folklore has become a beloved celebration of creativity, community, and, of course, plenty of sweet treats.
